BISCOTTI JAR
Deruta Pottery/Raffaellesco
$88.00
Style: #D76RF

A beautiful accompaniment for your cookies or as a decorative piece.

The “Raffaellesco” pattern was inspired by Raphael’s 16th century frescoes in the Vatican palace. It is said that the central motif of this pattern, the dragon, symbolizes a benevolent deity who brought good luck to sailors of the time. The sea creature supposedly rescued sailors trapped in a dead calm by blowing on the trapped ship’s sails. Today, it is commonly believed that having a piece of Raffaellesco in your home brings blessings and good luck.
